The concept of 1000 True Fans was first proposed by Kevin Kelly in 2008. This was written as the internet gained traction and Kevin Kelly saw they businesses could communicate directly with customers.
Kevin Kelly is a writer, he creates YouTube videos where he pontificates on the future. Anything from flying cars to genetic engineering. He thinks deeply on subjects – and shares what he believes. He is worth listening to, reading and watching. https://kk.org/
The gist of 1000 True Fans is that if you can cultivate 1000 fans who love what you do, who buy everything you create and who will be loyal to you then you will likely succeed in business.
So – is this relevant to a hospitality business today?
Probably more relevant than ever before as they battle a massively reduced tourism market, staff working from home, reduced spending by consumers. Plus social distancing regulations will impact hugely with reduced numbers and increased costs.
I’ve produced a video on how restaurants can easily use the concept of 1000 True Fans to power themselves into success.
Please share with anyone you know in hospitality and the restaurant industry.
